Cookie & Local Storage Policy

1. Cookies We Use

We use a minimal set of cookies, all related to anonymous visitor counting via Google Analytics 4:

These cookies do not contain your name, email, IP address, or any personal identifier. IP anonymisation is enabled, meaning Google never sees your full IP address.

2. Cookies We Do NOT Use

• No advertising or remarketing cookies
• No social media tracking cookies
• No session/authentication cookies
• No fingerprinting or cross-site tracking

3. What We Also Use: localStorage

We use the browser's localStorage API to remember two preferences:

4. Why localStorage Is Not a Cookie

• Never sent to the server — localStorage data stays entirely in your browser. It is never included in HTTP requests.
• No expiration — data persists until you clear it manually or clear your browser data.
• No tracking — these values cannot identify you and contain no personal data.
• Your control — you can delete these at any time via browser settings or developer tools.

5. Legal Basis

For analytics cookies (Google Analytics): We rely on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR — legitimate interest in understanding aggregate visitor numbers. We have balanced this interest against your rights by enabling IP anonymisation, disabling all advertising features, and offering you an easy opt-out (see below).

For localStorage (theme & language): Under the ePrivacy Directive (2002/58/EC, Art. 5(3)), storage is permitted without consent when "strictly necessary" for a service explicitly requested by the user. You explicitly request theme/language changes by interacting with the controls.

5a. How to Opt Out of Analytics

• Install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on
• Use any ad-blocker (uBlock Origin, Brave browser, etc.) — they block the GA script by default
• Enable "Do Not Track" in your browser — we respect this signal

6. Third-Party Storage

Apart from Google Analytics (described above), we do not embed any third-party content that sets cookies or uses localStorage/sessionStorage. Specifically:

• No social media embeds or share buttons
• No advertising networks
• No chat widgets
• No video embeds (YouTube, Vimeo)

Font loading: We load Google Fonts via a CSS @import. Google's font delivery does not set cookies when served via fonts.googleapis.com, but their servers may log your IP address briefly. See Google's Font Privacy FAQ.

7. Cloudflare (Hosting)

If this site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages, Cloudflare may set a __cf_bm cookie for bot management purposes. This is a strictly necessary technical cookie set by Cloudflare (not by us) that:

• Expires after 30 minutes
• Cannot be used to identify you personally
• Is classified as "strictly necessary" under ePrivacy (no consent needed)

We have no control over this cookie. It is set at the CDN/network level, not by our website code. See Cloudflare's cookie documentation.

8. How to Clear Our Data

To remove the localStorage data we set:

1. Open browser developer tools (F12 or Cmd+Opt+I)
2. Go to Application → Local Storage → select this site's origin
3. Delete the enrax-theme and enrax-lang entries

Alternatively, clearing your browser's "site data" for this domain will remove everything.

9. Changes

If we ever introduce cookies (e.g., for a client portal), we will update this policy, add a consent mechanism compliant with the ePrivacy Directive and GDPR, and notify users before any new tracking begins.
